Starkey talks about Lucy Connolly & flying British flag | David Starkey Talks... to Mark Littlewood

Operation Raise the Colours has swept the nation, with British people tired of seeing their public spaces given over to everything other than their own traditions. Rather than bully us into submission, the policies of successive governments for the last almost 30 years have reignited British and English patriotism. However I also worry that what we're seeing is an emergence of communal sectarianism that England has always managed to avoid, with ethnic enclaves signified by the flying of different flags just as they are in Northern Ireland. This week I've been discussing this with Mark Littlewood. He's the director of Popular Conservatism and with him I've been travelling up down the country for the last few years spreading the message that we must undo all the policies of the Blairite state. We also discussed the case of Lucy Connolly, jailed for nine months for a tweet while a Labour councillor who called for protestors' throats to be cut walks free. The really important aspect of the Connolly case is how she was persuaded to plead guilty to the crime she was accused of. It brings to mind a striking historical parallel of a method of torture used up until the 18th century to compel a plea, as I explain in the episode. I hope you enjoy it! 00:00 - Introduction 00:56 - Operation Raise the Colours 09:39 - American identity under threat 14:24 - The Left is pitting us into a civil war 21:07 - Rise of clans in Britain 25:06 - Ours governments believed they were supposed to save the world 28:29 - Misinterpretation of Christianity 34:33 - How should international agreements be adjudicated? 42:06 - Lucy Connolly's release Join my Members' Club on Patreon   / davidstarkeytalks   or SubscribeStar https://www.subscribestar.com/david-s... & follow me on Twitter (X) https://x.com/DrDStarkeyCBE If you upload any David Starkey Talks content, please include a link to this video in the video description and as a pinned comment. #Davidstarkey #Davidstarkeytalks #History “Flag - Great Britain” by Vaughan Leiberum, CC BY 2.0
