Powerless Wishes Are for Children, Not Grown Men

“Can We Return to Demographic Spring?” I asked as I set out the measures which would need to be imposed in order to end the Demographic Winter and restore the birth rate to replacement level. Despite my concluding ‘Kicker’, some readers have taken this as a manifesto which I am recommending. This is not the case,because it’s already way to late to reform our way out of the mess of an industrial civilisation halfway between committing suicide and being murdered.
My primary intention in writing the piece was to show that such a state-led ‘solution’ will never come to pass. I wish with all my heart that it would, but, as old folk wisdom put it:
“If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
If turnips were swords, I’d wear one by my side”.
The reality is that no party on Earth would get elected on a manifesto including those commitments, because they would all have to be paid for.
And, although none of the present lot will admit it, the demographic melt-down of indigenous Britain is already playing havoc with tax revenues (it also goes a long way to explaining why nothing works properly anymore and why you can’t find a plumber or chippy for love nor money).
So the programme to boost the birth rate would also have to involve a plan to, at the very least: tax the childless; raise the retirement age by at least five years; ban abortion; pile massive extra tax burdens on an increasingly elderly population to provide all sorts of hand-outs to young families, and so on.
The measures I outlined in that piece would work (although not as well as simply banning all contraception as well as abortion, and imprisoning anyone who advocated reversing these policies) but first a majority of the electorate would have to vote for them. And they would have to keep voting for them for eighty years!
This immediately brings us face-to-face with the root problem of democracy in a mass society – electors will vote for promises of jam tomorrow, even if they don’t really believe them any more, but they sure as Hell won’t vote for a promise of pain tomorrow, and the year after, and the decade after that, and a further seven decades after that.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense and honesty knows that democracy is essentially fictional in any case; in truth, we live under a plutocracy which shades into kleptocracy. But when it comes to the elections with which the elite cloak their rule and self-interest, the demographics of the entire industrialised world are turning even the pretext of democracy – rule by the people - into gerontocracy – rule by old people.
In the 1960s, the principle of “One Man, One Vote” meant that the defining block of voters were men and women of child-bearing age. A large majority of these had young children, the Boomers of today. When political parties set out their stall at elections, they were even then essentially bribing voters, but they were bribing an electorate with a collective vested interest in the future.
Sixty or seventy years later, the age distribution within society has changed drastically. The proportion of the population remotely interested in thinking about a future thirty or forty years ahead has crashed, and continues to shrink even further. Instead, we have a vast number of people approaching retirement and pensioners.
Not even the Labour decision to give the vote to 16-year-olds is going to change the fact that the dominant block in politics from here on downwards is going to be old. And old people will not vote to be worked and taxed to death for the sake of young families and the long-term future.
Theoretically, that still leaves possibility that a high birth rate programme could be imposed by a dictatorship, and it is interesting that a remarkably high proportion of Gen Z men are dismissive of democracy and want to see the country ruled by a “strong man”. It seems they know instinctively that a country ruled by the old is no place for the young.
But our ruling elite have already insulated themselves from the possibility of having their looting spree terminated by the simple expediency of turning homogeneous nations into multicultural, multi-ethnic states. If the peasants get too revolting, they simply need to turn the ones with pitchforks against the ones with torches, and then sit out the resulting chaos in their gated communities.
Even if there was, by some near miracle, a patriotic youth revolution in one country, the old elites of the entire liberal world would band together to destroy such a dangerous example. Financial, military and political pressure would go hand—in-hand with subversion and every dirty trick in the book, The same is true, of course, even of a peaceful and democratic patriotic vote for much less radical change.
Incurable optimists out there might counter this regrettable fact by positing the idea of a worldwide youth revolution which imposes pro-natalist dictatorship on the majority of white countries in the world. A pretty ideal, maybe, but we’re back to the fact that turnips can never become swords, however much we wish they could, or believe they should.

Hence, wonderful pipe-dream though it is, that set of proposals for boosting birth rates is not my manifesto or mission. The Demographic Winter is going to change our world beyond all recognition, within the lifetimes of our grandchildren. The Great Dying – the equivalent of at least two Black Deaths in a single century – is already baked into the demographics, and nothing anyone will be able to do will change that.
The rise of AI only adds to the chaos, unpredictability and challenges of the coming years. Together with robotisation, it is also likely (provided we don’t see an overshoot total societal collapse which destroys high technology altogether) to have a huge impact on the question of what sort of society the generational survivors will be able to build.
Debt-based, fiat money, finance capitalism was based not on the cleverness of banksters, the organisational genius of industrial barons or the wisdom of great statesmen. It was built on limitless ultra-cheap energy permitting the production and distribution of cheap food, on basic but critical advances in health practices and medical technology, and on the permanently expanding populations these produced.
The Net Zero destruction of the cheap energy base of industrial civilisation could be reversed in a ten-year crash programme in building nuclear reactors, funded by drill-baby-drill and even new coal mines. Indeed, there are strong signs that it will be in the United States.
But the ageing population problem, and the dramatic shrinkage we are going to see as the Boomers shuffle off their mortal coils, cannot be turned around. It is already built into the population demographics, and there is nothing a Trump or a Vance or a Musk or an Orban or anyone else can do about it.
The only possible ‘solution’ is mass immigration; not of single young males, who will themselves become burdensome pensioners in the blink of a demographic eye, but of young couples. Young couples who are then encouraged to have children.
Where could they come from? Well, it’s a zero-sum game, if they move from Latvia and Italy to Britain, then Latvia and Italy disappear as indigenous European nations even faster than they are at present. Furthermore, why would anyone want to move to a Britain which is bankrupt, broken, hates immigration and which powerful forces are pushing towards civil war?
The white immigration solution is in truth only a realistic part of the solution for New World countries. New Zealand would be best suited to do it: Open the doors to newly-weds and young families from Britain and Europe, let in enough to put the population on the road to doubling and then shut the doors to anyone else.
Of course, their liberal elite won’t do it and, indeed, the population wouldn’t vote for it in any case, but that’s what it would take if New Zealanders don’t want the pitifully small number of descendants they are at present going to have from being forced to eke out an existence as the feudal serfs of the Anglosphere’s hyper-rich who are at present buying the place up as the ultimate bolt-hole.
The USA is far more likely to do it, and the arrival of 20 million or so high-quality European immigrants in as many years would give the American Dream a fighting chance of survival. If the ‘Trump Revolution’ makes a second term under a successor who continues on the current trajectory, this is by no means impossible, although it’s still a long shot at present.
For Britain and the rest of Europe, however, any attempt to stave off population ageing and shrinkage through mass immigration means a few million more Indians and then Africans. Tens of millions of Africans. At which point we’re in about the same place as the US military strategists in Vietnam – “we had to destroy the village in order to save it”.
The current civnat effort to get everyone fighting mad against a few million admittedly often unlovable Muslims is part of a much broader push to open the West up to an invasion of an unimaginably large and extremely unpleasant wave of African immigration. Stopping that is the real coming struggle for ethnic survival in Britain and Europe.
What I am saying to you is that there is no going back. No return to the good old days. No way back to what our parents and grandparents thought as normal and set in stone.
Where populists like Farage and Le Pen come to power, they probably will overcome obstacles thrown in their way by activist judges, bleeding-heart bishops and violent leftist mobs, and deport a few particularly troublesome illegals. They might even manage to bring in the mass deportation of all the illegals.
Which would ‘only’ leave the 90% who are here legally – and the capitalists who fund, and the capitalist mentality which permeates populism, will never consent to their deportation. Nor, for that matter, would they consent to go, any more than the indigenous population would be willing to wage and win the devastating civil war which would be needed to make them.
The truth is this: We can make as many wishes as we like, but we cannot get rid of them. And, contrary to all the worries about ‘replacement’ and Islamist conquest, they cannot get rid of, replace, or even conquer and subjugate us.
If people don’t realise this, and if the various elite groups pushing for civil war get their way, then there will be thirty years of tit-for-tat horror, at the end of which the psychopaths and gangsters who will dominate all sides will sit down and hammer out some sort of Good Friday sell-out peace deal.
The various embittered and radically separated communities will then settle down into our respective ghettos, with the best of their people gradually emigrating to places like Dubai and the best of ours probably heading for the white parts of the balkanised USA.
For those who stay here, we should at least be able to agree that we all reject toxic globohomo liberalism and will understand that the survival of all our ethno-religious communities depends upon us all rejecting ‘integration’ for the bloodless genocide and cultural ethnocide which it really is.
Personally, I would rather short-circuit the process, and help our people – my people – to complete the ‘tribalisation’ which we see going on at such a pace right now. To rebuild our identity to recover our collective cohesion and to stabilise our birth rate. That way we emerge from the population collapse, and the process of becoming a minority, as the largest and most powerful minority. The confident, bold, indigenous super-minority which sets the tone of the country, and which all the smaller minorities recognise as the force which keeps the country stable.
Then we can begin the long process of, one-by-one, solving the problems (generally the fault of the same City/Westminster elite which robbed us before it went on to rob them) which first pushed their forebears to come to Britain. Then they, finally, can go home and will want to go home. We cannot reverse the multi-cultural destruction of the West without also addressing the looting and breaking of the rest. It is all the work of the global elite, and they – and their power structures – are the ones who must one day pay to put not just Britain, but the entire world, to rights.
All that, however, is obviously a very long time in the future. Coming back to our own time, I’m here not just to dispel false hope in impossible wishes, but to make practical proposals for real, concrete things which nationalist activists, and broader communities of our people, can do. Positive things, which will help to ensure that we come through the demographic winter and its Great Dying with our families, communities, culture, heritage, ethnic identity, bloodlines and faith intact and thriving.
