Court Clears Bible of Hate Crime!

A perverse Marxist attempt to get the Bible classified as 'hate speech' has been beaten back in Finland.

Christian MP Päivi Räsänen had been charged and dragged into court for having quoted the words of the Bible condemning homosexuality.

In total, Brave Räivi faced three criminal charges for publicly sharing her Christian beliefs about marriage and sexuality. For three whole years, she faced a raging campaign to discredit her by LGBTQ bigots, on top of the police and legal persecution.

 

But last Wednesday, the Helsinki District Court acquitted her of all the charges. Freedom of speech and freedom of religion have been upheld!

Päivi expressed her deep gratitude: “I am grateful to God and everyone who has supported me”.

The ruling of the court was unanimous. The judges concluded that “it is not for the district court to interpret biblical concepts.”

And there is even more: “We lament the fact that this has been brought to the court in the first place. It should have never been the case. We lament that the state prosecutor was engaging in critique of the Bible and raising theological questions.” 

The prosecution was ordered to pay more than 60,000 EUR in legal costs and has seven days to appeal the ruling. We will see whether the prosecution decides to appeal to a higher court (The Court of Appeal) and further squander the money of the Finnish tax payers.

Regardless of what the Prosecutor decides to do, Päivi is ready to fight for freedom of speech and freedom of religion till the end, even if it means appealing to the European Court of Human Rights.
