Cressida Dick to receive £575,000 payout and £160,000-a-year taxpayer-funded pension

London's Metropolitan Police Chief, Cressida Dick has resigned after a string of controversies and failings.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan had threatened to oust Dick from her role, saying she wasn't doing enough to tackle growing accusations of misogyny and racism.

In a statement, Dick said that it has become clear that Khan "no longer has sufficient confidence in my leadership to continue."

Dame Cressida, 61, still has plenty to smile about as she will walk away from her post with up to three pensions estimated to pay out £160,000-a-year, plus a pay-off in the region of £575,000.

BRIT Awards pulls in lowest ever ratings for going Woke

The 2022 BRIT Awards with Mastercard pulled in just 2.7 million viewers during its broadcast on Tuesday, it's lowest ratings ever.

Last year it was announced that the BRIT Awards have gone gender neutral by scrapping male and female categories.

Bosses claimed the move was in a bid 'to be as inclusive and as relevant as possible' and allowed people to enter who do not identify as a man or woman.

But fans blasted the change as 'woke drivel', with many calling for a boycott of the show.

Go Woke, Go Broke.

Kurt Zouma fined £250k and RSPCA confiscate his cats after he is filmed kicking and slapping them

West Ham footballer, Kurt Zouma has had his cats taken away from him by the RSPCA after he was filmed dropping, kicking and slapping them across his kitchen.

Zouma has now been fined £250,000 by West Ham, which equates to just two weeks wages for the centre-back. The money will be paid to animal welfare charities.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been slammed for continuing to play Zouma, who has now been dropped by sponsors Adidas and Vitality.

Kurt Zouma's brother Yoan Zouma has been suspended by Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club after it emerged he was the one filming the cat kicking video and can be heard laughing hysterically.

THIS WEEK IN HISTORY: The Apostle Paul was shipwrecked in Malta

On 10th February 60 AD, Paul the Apostle, having been falsely accused and imprisoned, was shipwrecked on his way to Rome under military escort to face charges.

The Acts of the Apostles tell the story of how Paul was being taken to Rome to be tried as a political rebel, but the ship carrying him and 274 others was caught in a violent storm and shipwrecked on the Maltese coast. All aboard swam safely to land.

The site of the wreck is traditionally known as St. Paul’s Island, and is marked by a statue commemorating the event.

God’s protection meant Paul finally arrived in Rome having survived both a storm, a shipwreck and a snake bite.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
