Novak Djokovic languishing in Australian Detention Camp on Orthodox Christmas Day
Novak Djokovic spent Orthodox Christmas Day (7th January) in an Australian Detention Camp for refugees.
The tennis star, who chose not to take the Covid 'vaccine', had been granted a medical exemption to play in the Australian Open.
The exemption was given by two independent medical panels organised by Tennis Australia, the body that runs the event, and Victoria state, tournament organisers said.
But on Wednesday, Australian Border Force (ABF) officials said the 34-year-old Serbian player had "failed to provide appropriate evidence" at Melbourne Airport.
The men's world number one remains in immigration detention in Melbourne and is facing deportation after his entry to the country was denied on Wednesday.
He has launched an urgent court challenge to be heard on Monday, a week before the tournament begins.
Northern Ireland backpedal on Face Mask Discrimination
The Northern Ireland Executive have had to delay their plan to tighten controls around the wearing of face coverings.
As it stands, it is a legal requirement for people to wear face coverings on public transport and in shops - unless they are exempt.
Under the new plan, people in Northern Ireland would have had to prove they were exempt from wearing face coverings from Friday (7th January).
The move, which would have inevitably led to countless instances of discrimination, has been abandoned by Stormont Ministers.

On 6th January 1649 the House of Commons passed an 'Act' appointing 135 commissioners to be a High Court of Justice to try King Charles I.
Following a vote, the English Rump Parliament put Charles I on trial for treason and other "high crimes"
The trial of Charles I was one of the most momentous events ever to have taken place in Westminster Hall.
Kings have been deposed and murdered, but never before had one been tried and condemned to death whilst still King.
