No help from the EU for British entrepreneurs

JULY 2010: Nick Griffin's Constituency Office has carried out some research into business grants, loans and assistance schemes, in response to many British entrepreneurs seeking to access European Union funds for business ventures outside of the United Kingdom.
Constituency Office manager Tina Wingfield reports on the findings and provides the standard response to the many queries received:
"While it appears at the outset that there are various assistance packages available, more detailed investigation reveals that the assistance available is geared towards particular ‘less developed’ regions and targeted specifically at designated areas of trade. Some European countries, moreover, have more advanced assistance structures in place and language difficulties, not surprisingly, continue to present a barrier to effective cross-border trading.
The EU Service Directive, for example, was implemented with the aim of stimulating cross-border trade and to facilitate the establishment of new business ventures, through a ‘Single Point of Contact’.
The European Union (EU) supports indirect (i.e. through financial intermediaries in the home country) financing for small/medium sized enterprises (SMEs), to help their business start up or develop. It does this through the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme 2007-2013 (CIP). CIP funds are used to guarantee loans to SMEs provided by a range of financial institutions involved in SME lending. Unfortunately, however, there is currently no source of EU-supported loan finance in the United Kingdom. The EU also supports small businesses through direct funding/grants but this finance is directed primarily towards the poorer regions within the European Union. Another facility that is, therefore, of little use to to British citizens.
In short, as with many other aspects of our European Union membership, there is little or no benefit for British people in terms of gaining financial assistance for new business ventures. In fact, the net effect of our membership is socially, culturally and economically detrimental. In terms of finance, We put £billions British taxpayers’ money into the EU and receive few worthwhile services in return. Culturally, our British identity and national sovereignty are becoming increasing subsumed within a European Super State and our value as indigenous Britons eroded. Socially, the free flow of Eastern European migrants has squeezed British workers out of the jobs market and placed an unsupportable burden upon our health, education and welfare services.  
This is why, as a British National Party MEP, Mr Griffin believes that Britain and the British people would be better off if we were free and independent of the European Union. He is anti-European Union - and calls, therefore, for Britain to withdraw from the EU - but he is not anti-European. A British National Party Government would replace rule from Brussels with a system of cooperation between free nations, establishing bilateral agreements on trade and travel with other countries that benefit Britain and the British people.
British sovereignty must be restored and the right to decide on issues of national importance - such as social and economic affairs - returned to the elected British Government. Only then will we be able to ensure that the interests of British workers and British business are put before all others.

15TH JULY 2010: Nick Griffin has received a letter from a constituent in Preston about a specific agenda within the local schools.
The lady told her MEP:
"In March I rang the head teacher of my children's school to try and encourage a special St George's Day celebration. I was told that such an event might cause offence to those pupils not of the English culture.
"Two days later my son cam home with a letter for a school trip to the local mosque. I sent the slip back to the school NOT giving my consent as this offended my Christian beliefs, now the school want my son to do the home work on the mosque visit and Islam.
"Am I within my rights to notify the school that I do not wish my children to partake in classes where islam is being promoted, especially when they aren't allowed to celebrate their own Christian and English culture?" she asked.
Replying on behalf of Nick Griffin MEP, Constituency Office Manager Tina Wingfield, said:
"Religious Education (RE) is a compulsory subject in the state education system in the United Kingdom. Schools are required to teach a programme of religious studies according to local and national guidelines, which includes the study of different religions, religious leaders, and other religious and moral themes. However, the 1996 Education Act confirmed the right of parents to withdraw their children from religious education, either wholly or in part. Guidance regarding the right of withdrawal is outlined in DFES Circular 1/94, sections 46- 49 [RE] and 83-88 [collective worship], and relates to the 1988 and 1993 Education Acts. Parents are not obliged to state their reasons for seeking withdrawal and it is not a legal requirement to put requests for withdrawal in writing (although the Headteacher may advise you to do so).
All schools should include a right of withdrawal statement in their prospectus and it is considered good practice to have a policy outlining their provision for the right of withdrawal from RE and/or collective worship, so please refer to your son’s School Prospectus for this.
Authority guidelines for Headteachers point out that the withdrawal of any child from religious education is a cause for regret, and advise them to talk through the issues concerned with parents. It may be worthwhile, therefore, for you to contact the Headteacher so you can explain your reasons for withdrawal and perhaps negotiate a school programme which is more inclusive of English culture. To this end, it would be helpful to also contact the School’s governing body, which includes parent representatives, as part of their remit is to help the school be responsive to the needs of parents and the community.
Unfortunately, the neglect of our English culture and traditional way of life is becoming standard throughout the public sector. It seems these days that every culture and religion is catered for and ‘diversity’ universally celebrated, except for the culture, beliefs and preferences of the indigenous British majority.
With the help of a supportive school governing body, you may however be able to challenge this approach within your children’s school.
Mr Griffin wishes you every success in your endeavour to ensure that your son receives an education which reflects his cultural identity."

Yesterday, on a day when four more British soldiers died in Afghanistan, the July issue of Voice of Freedom, the British National Party's monthly newspaper, was published with a front page headline 'Stop this senseless slaughter.'

The lives of British servicemen and women are being sacrificed for nothing in a war that cannot be won, says a report on page two and the editorial calls for David Cameron to be forced to attend every single 'homecoming' at Wooton Bassett until he sees the futility of the war in Afghanistan and the heartbreaking waste of young British lives.

As well as being a newspaper that campaigns on the issues of the day, Freedom also reports on the activities of British National Party units up and down the country.

The latest issue keeps readers well briefed on this, and on the work of the party's two MEPs, Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons, who each have their own page in the newspaper.

The initial response to the latest edition has been very positive. John Ryde, the press officer for the East Midlands, the first region to receive its supplies of the newspaper, commented:

The European Union has announced its intention to encourage even more Third World immigrants to enter Europe as the news emerged that at least 51,000 Romanians have sought work in Britain in the last six months alone.

The wave of non-EU nationals and Romanians comes as the “economically inactive” segment of the UK population continues to climb to in excess of 8.2 million.

According to EU home affairs commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom, rules will be simplified for non-EU nationals to enter Europe for workers looking to take up “jobs in farming, tourism and other industries.”

Despite rising unemployment across the EU, Ms Malmstrom claimed the additional Third World workers were needed to “fill labour shortages.”

Mrs Malmstrom was quoted as saying that “We know unemployment rates are still very high in Europe.” Official EU figures have revealed that in certain business sectors, EU-wide unemployment is as high as 10 percent.

Nonetheless, Ms Malmstrom plans to speed up procedures for hiring managers, specialists and seasonal workers from outside the 27 EU member states.

Meanwhile, separate figures released by a Romanian recruitment agency showed that more than 50,000 Romanians applied for jobs in Britain in the first six months of this year.

According to the report, Britain is the second most popular destination after Germany for Romanians seeking to work abroad.

Some 426,443 Romanians applied for jobs in the EU, of which 72,000 were accepted.

Tens of thousands of Romanians came to Britain after their country joined the EU in 2007 and there are now almost three million Romanians living in EU states other than their own.

The addition of Turkey to the EU will add at least another 40 million mainly Muslims to the “freedom of movement” policy within the EU. That nation’s relaxation of all border visa controls with the rest of the Middle East will also allow a further mass invasion of Europe from the Arab nations.

Russian spy Chapman stripped of British citizenship yet Suspected Islamic Terrorist Welcomed Hypocrisy

The British government has stripped Russian spy Anna Chapman of her British citizenship and revoked her passport, citing her guilty plea in U.S federal court for conspiring to violate the Foreign Agent Registration statute.
Chapman's New York lawyer, Robert M. Baum, said he received notification earlier today from the British Home Secretary. The letter said the decision was taken based on information "that could not be made public based on interests of national security," Baum said.
He sent the notice to Chapman in Moscow with the advice that she contact a lawyer in London if she wants to appeal the British decision. Chapman gained British citizenship through her marriage in 2002 to Alex Chapman a British businessman she met four months earlier. They were divorced four years later.
Before leaving the U.S. in the spy swap last Friday, the 28-year-old had told Baum she might want to relocate to London.
And yet in the UK today strongly suspected Islamic detainees and other suspected Terrorists are welcomed with open arms such as

Last weekend, a South Wales BNP camera crew under the direction of BNP YouTube star Roger Phillips filmed a shocking display of the colonisation process at work in Cardiff.

This small demonstration is the tip of the iceberg, and is the first wave of Islamist colonists who have firmly set their sights on Wales as well.

Mr Phillips said that a complaint had been laid with the police for incitement based on what was said at this rally, but it had been ignored.

The increase in the ethnic population is far higher than the projections issued by the University of Leeds which is being used by the controlled media to cover up the Third World colonisation of Britain.

According to the Leeds study, which is currently being widely quoted by the media, the ethnic proportion of the population is set to rise to 20 percent by the year 2051.

According to the study, by 2051, 79 percent of British people will be classed as white, compared with 92 percent now.

The Leeds study has based its projections on vastly out-of-date figures, as evidenced by the claim that the current ethnic population is around 8 percent. This is from the 2001 census, which is already ten years out of date.

The real figures indicate that the ethnic population is already near to 20 percent of the population.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), legal Third World immigrants made up 14.7 percent (7.5 million) of the population of England in 2004.(1)

According to the ONS, 10.9 percent (or 6.7 million) of the currently resident population of Britain was not born in this country.(2)

In 2005, the ONS issued a separate report which said that 36 percent of all births in England and Wales were not “white British.”(3)

This 2005 birth rate figure does not include births to second and third generation immigrant mothers. Figures released by the ONS in January 2009 revealed that the Muslim population in Britain has grown by more than 500,000 to 2.4 million in just four years. Their population multiplied 10 times faster than the rest of society.(4)

An August 2008 ONS population report stated that, on average, ‘foreign’ women have 2.5 children each, rising to 3.9 for those from Bangladesh and almost five for Pakistani women.(5) When these figures are added in, the immigrant birth rate is estimated to be around 50 percent of all live births in England and Wales.

The majority of the “new immigrants” are not from Eastern Europe, as is often widely claimed. According to the ONS figures, immigrants from Eastern Europe had 25,000 children in Britain last year — an absolute minority of the just over 700,000 live births.(6)

According to the Birmingham City Council, 61 percent of all primary school children in greater Birmingham are of Third World origin. (7)

Over 300 languages are currently spoken in London schools. Some of the most established of these are Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien. (8)

Some 150 languages are spoken in schools in Reading, an indication of the extent of the invasion in Berkshire. (9)

All these statistics taken together show that the non-British ethnic population is increasing in number exponentially, and given current immigration and birth rates, will utterly overwhelm the indigenous population of Britain within the next 30 years.

As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. "We the people" expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee. That didn't happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for "dinners," etc. There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.

This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America. We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama Campaign "Chicago Machine" dirty politics. The DNC and the Obama Campaign need to be held accountable for the catastrophe of the 2008 Democratic Primary. We must right their wrongs...after all, this is America, the Land of the Free, where every American has the right to a fair, honest voting process, and to have his or her vote counted...

“Climate Change” Policies Risk Major Damage to Economic Recovery

A preoccupation with “green energy policies at any cost” is undermining the competitiveness of manufacturing industry, according to a new report from independent think tank Civitas.

In a new publication called British Energy Policy And The Threat To Manufacturing Industry, sector experts Ruth Lea and Jeremy Nicholson reveal that the increased costs of energy arising from “green” energy policies are set to increase significantly.

Ms Lea is currently Economic Adviser and Director of Arbuthnot Banking Group plc and Mr Nicholson is Director of the Energy Intensive Users Group.

 “Increased costs will hurt manufacturing at a time when much depends on the sector to generate the economic growth the country needs, and to rebalance the economy,” a press release from Civitas said.

In their report, the authors examine the impact of the recent Labour Government's policy on energy prices.

“They argue that Labour's aim to reduce carbon emissions and increase the proportion of energy generated from renewable sources, significantly increased costs for energy consumers,” Civitas said.

The “analysis provides a timely warning because under the new Coalition Government, energy policy could be as damaging to manufacturing industry as it was under Labour.

“Lea and Nicholson cite evidence that the recent Labour Government's climate change strategy hiked up electricity bills. For example, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform estimated in 2008 that the 'surcharge' on electricity prices, attributable to climate-change policies, amounted to an extra 14 percent for domestic users and 21 percent for business.

“Furthermore, the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s Renewable Energy Strategy (2009) suggested that these surcharges could be as high as 33 percent and 70 percent by 2020 respectively.

“Lea and Nicholson highlight the two major legislative commitments responsible:

“1. The Climate Change Act (2008) - including a legally binding target of at least an 80 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

“2. The EU's Renewables Directive (2008) - under which the UK must meet 15 percent of its final energy consumption through renewable sources by 2020.

“Britain will bear a greater cost than other countries,” Civitas said.

“This country is particularly badly placed for such commitments. First, Britain is starting with a very modest renewables industry, so the burden of the EU's Renewables Directive will be substantial,” the statement continued.

Highlights from the report include:

- The proportion of renewables to total energy consumption in 2005 was just 1.3%, compared with an EU27 average of 8.5%.' (p.6)

- Even without the extra costs associated with climate change policies that are due to be imposed, Lea and Nicholson argue, Britain's industrial electricity prices already tend to be amongst the highest of any major economy.

This puts British business and, in particular, energy intensive users at a cost and international competitiveness disadvantage. Moreover, given the expected increases in the climate change surcharges, Britain's cost disadvantage will almost certainly increase, thus undermining competitiveness further.

- Such extra costs would inevitably tilt the balance for many businesses and render them unviable in Britain. (p.10)

- Energy intensive users, including steel, glass and ceramics, bulk chemicals, industrial gases and cement, are especially vulnerable. These are important contributors to GDP not only in their own right but also because of their inter-dependent relationship with 'downstream' industries.

- Britain is already losing energy intensive businesses because of the lack of competitiveness... There is no doubt that high energy prices have already been a factor behind industry closures. (pp.10-11)

The report outlines specific examples of the layers of 'fall out' from such closures, for example, the INEOS Chlor plant in Cheshire manufactures chlorine and caustic soda which are vital inputs to a wide-range of 'downstream' industries including disinfectants, plastics, pharmaceuticals, soaps and detergents.

“Rather than import the basic chemicals, many of the downstream businesses would migrate to countries where they were still domestically produced for reasons of reliability of supply and transport costs,” the report states.

“The economy desperately needs a competitive and thriving manufacturing sector if it is to prosper. Competitive energy prices are vital to the success of manufacturers, especially energy intensive users.

“Government energy policies are, however, remorselessly driving up energy costs thus risking the 'migration' of manufacturing plants to economies where the costs are lower,” Civitas said.
